This article describes how to sell product/item(s) on KidMax. To learn how to list a service/business, see How to List?.
Selling an item on KidMax is simple and fast.
To sell product/item(s), you must become a member of KidMax. You must also have a Valid Seller Account. For this, you must have valid billing & shipping information on KidMax. If you do not have a valid seller account, you will be prompted to provide this information. This process takes only a couple of minutes. This enables KidMax to be a safer place for both the buyers and sellers.
Note that we do not share your information with any third parties. Review our Privacy & Security Policy for details.
Before you list an item for sale or exchange on KidMax, you must make sure that is allowed on KidMax for sale. It is the seller's responsibility to make sure that his/her item is appropriate for sale under all the local and otherwise applicable laws and regulations. See list of Prohibited & Restricted Items/Listings on KidMax.
KidMax will charge seller fee associated with your sale. Please review details of seller fees (Product/Item) here.
To begin selling, click here. You will be asked to fill in following information:
Item Details: You will be asked to select Type of Sale. There are 4 ways to sell an item on KidMax. Select a category and a sub-category for your item for sale. You must specify the present condition of your item. If the item is a collectible, check collectible checkbox. You can optionally specify the ages of kids who would find the item useful or interesting. To specify fractional ages, enter age+. For example, to specify 1 1/2 years or 18 months, enter 1+.
If the item is for a specific gender, you have the option of specifying it here. You can select unisex/neutral for items that are designed for both genders (example: apparel & accessories, baby products, etc.) or choose not to specify this for your listing (example: electronic goods, furniture, etc.). Enter the manufacturer (mfg.), brand or product line of the item, Universal Product Code (UPC) and/or International Standard Book Number (ISBN) optionally. This helps the interested buyers in searching and identifying products they are looking for and helps you to attract more customers.
Provide a title and description of the item. Be as descriptive as possible. You can add up to 5 pictures. Each picture can be up to 500 KB in file size and should be in one of the following file formats: JPEG (.jpg or .jpeg file extension), GIF (.gif file extension), PNG (.png file extension) or BMP (.bmp file extension). We encourage adding pictures. Pictures help interested buyers in getting a better idea of your item.
For Exchange offers and Fixed Price Sale / Will consider offers, you can optionally specify what you 'Prefer in Exchange'. We recommend that you specify this because it helps attract interested buyers who can offer something in exchange that you are looking for.
On the next screen, there are 6 sections:
Sale Details: Specify available quantity of the item. Depending on the type of sale, you will be asked to specify price / starting price / estimated item value etc. for the item. For an exchange offer, you must select at least one type of offer (cash offers / exchange offers) that you are willing to consider. If you are willing to consider cash offers, you can specify the minimum amount (default: US $0.00) for the offer. Item location can be entered as a ZIP / Postal code or a custom text (Examples of ZIP or Postal Code: 94401, V7Y 1J6). Please enter the accurate location of the item from where it is going to be shipped or where it is present now. This information is essential for interested buyers.
Shipping/Delivery Details: This section allows to specify details about geographical areas where you are willing to ship/deliver the item. You can also specify if shipping does not apply to the item. This is for items that do not require shipping, items that can be delivered electronically and if you are looking for local buyer(s) to come and pick up the item.
Shipping & Handling Charges: You must specify domestic and international shipping charges for your item here. If you are not willing to ship internationally, select 'N/A' for international shipping charges. You can also specify domestic and international shipping insurance charges and if these charges are optional for buyer(s). If you choose not to ship the item in shipping details section, this section will be disabled.
Payment Methods: Specify payment methods you are willing to accept for your listing. You must select at least one method of payment. To accept online payments from buyers, select the online payment systems you would like to accept for your listing. To enable buyers to pay with PayPal and/or Google Checkout directly from invoice with a click, you must enter your online payment account information for PayPal (e-mail address) and/or Google Checkout (Merchant ID) in your profile ('my Dashboard (my Account) > Profile') on KidMax. You can add/update this in your profile anytime. Changes made in your profile to your online payment account information will apply immediately to all of your invoices to buyers for your listings which accept those online payment systems.
Note: You are not required to enter your online payment account information in your profile in order to accept online payments. If online payment account information is not available in your profile, buyers will simply not be able to pay directly from invoice. You will have to e-mail them your account information in order to accept payments.
Listing Start Date & Duration: Specify when you want to make your listing public (or start your listing). If you don't specify a start date and time, the listing will start immediately after you confirm it. Note that after the listing has become public, you will not be able to change the start date & time. Also, select the duration for which you want the listing to be public. This will determine the listing end date & time.
Counter: Counter shows number of visits to your listing. You can choose to make it visible to all users or only to yourself. You can see the number of visits to your listing in 'my Dashboard (Seller Area) > Items Selling' anytime till the listing is public.
Review & confirm your listing on the next screen. To make any changes, click on 'Edit' next to the section to which you want to make changes. Also, review the seller fee (Product/Item) for the listing. This fee is charged to your account on or after the listing starts (becomes public). After you have reviewed your listing thoroughly, click 'Submit' button. That's it! Your item is now on sale on KidMax. You will be presented with a confirmation screen with this message.
Note:
  • A seller can make changes (revise) to a product/item listing anytime before either:
One buyer makes a purchase (Fixed Price Sale, Fixed Price Sale / Will consider offers, Auction with Buy this Item),
One bid is placed (Auction, Auction with Buy this Item),
An interested buyer makes an offer (Exchange Offer, Fixed Price Sale / Will consider offers), Or
The seller makes an offer to another listing using the listing (Exchange Offer, Fixed Price Sale / Will consider offers).
To revise to your listing, go to 'my Dashboard (Seller Area) > Items Selling' anytime till the listing is public. If you can still revise your item, you will see 'Revise Item' below the title of your listing.
  • After your listing becomes public, it may take up to 15 minutes for it to become searchable by KidMax users.
